PLANETARY GEOLOGY
The research group in planetary geology studies the formation and evolution of celestial bodies in the Solar System using geochemical methods. Current research is focused on the study of meteorites, Lunar samples, and impact craters.

PhD Evgenia Salin (ÅAU)
PROJECT RESEARCHER
My main research interests include evolution of lunar mantle reservoirs and impact history through the impact and volcanic glass particles in the lunar regolith; implications of the lunar impact record for constraining the impact history of the inner Solar System as well as geochemistry and geochronology of the Precambrian rocks.

MSc Laura Kotomaa (ÅAU)
PHD RESEARCHER
I’m a meteoriticist in training, in other words I study extraterrestrial samples. My main research interest is the formation and evolution of the Solar System via the study of meteorites. My current research is focused on iron meteorites and pallasites, more precisely the Lieksa pallasite and Löpönvaara iron. I’m also interested in the study of impact craters.
